A short history of Vaclav & Marie Chada

Vaclav and Marie Chada were the parents of Vaclav, [called William], John, Mary, Louis, Joseph, and Henry. Marie was a professional mid-wife, licenced by the University of Prague. Son Vaclav was born in Lhenice, Netolice County, Bohemia 2/17/1879. Vaclav, called William, married Carolina Kouba, called Carrie, who was born in Chicago, 1/26/1880. It appears the youngest two sons, Joseph and Henry had a dairy farm in Fifield, Philips Co., Wis. Vaclav had a saloon. The family also had a fruit orchard near Fall River, WI. Vaclav and a brother were rattan workers, doing reed and cane work. By 1918 Vaclav had a business on Western Ave. in Chicago. This was closed a few years later.
